- Whether starting a new website or updating an existing one, determine the primary reason for the website.
- Who will be the primary users and why will they be coming to the site? Is it used for information, purchasing, news/updates, etc.?

- Provide content that is relative and not to wordy. Most people do not read all of the text on a webpage.
- Images should relate to the page topic. Images may always be purchased if relevent images are not available.
- Navigating the website should be easy.
- Consider the frequency of updates to the website. How often will it need to be updated?
